Gautam Bansal is a Bengaluru-based artist whose creative journey spans over two decades of working with charcoal. With a background in Art & Design and years in the corporate world, he eventually left that path to pursue a full-time life in art—driven by a deeper need for expression, sincerity and connection.His works—often quiet, yet deeply evocative—have been featured in premier art festivals including the India Art Festival and Mumbai Art Fair, and are part of notable private collections across India. Some of his pieces have been curated by prominent public figures and showcased at exclusive events.Gautam’s presence in over 30 exhibitions and his continued recognition through awards and features reflect an artist committed to steady growth and expressive depth. As a guest faculty at a school for autism, he conducts weekly charcoal workshops, offering art as a language of connection and self-expression.

Artist Statement

Charcoal gives me space to strip things down—to explore not just form, but feeling. I’m drawn to the threshold where stillness becomes motion, where something undefined begins to take shape. This is where my work lives.Whether I’m channelling the force of a galloping horse, the quiet presence of a dancer, or the texture of a human face, I’m always searching for that moment when something shifts—when an image breathes.Nature moves through my work not only as subject but as metaphor: animals, storms, wind, water and the human spirit, all shaped by unseen currents. I embrace the imperfect, the unfinished, the emotionally vulnerable. Each piece holds space for what’s in-between—between clarity and blur, power and poise, exposure and restraint.In a fast world, I hope my work invites viewers to slow down, feel more and find something of themselves in the quiet pulse of charcoal.

Are your original artworks one-of-a-kind?

Absolutely. Every piece I create is crafted by hand and exists as a single original. I do not make duplicates or prints of my charcoal artworks — once an artwork finds a home, there will never be another like it. Owning one means owning something entirely exclusive.

Do you accept commissions or custom artwork requests?

Yes. I very much take on commissioned work. If you have something in mind, feel free to reach out with your ideas.

Can I reserve an artwork I love?

Yes, I offer short-term reservations (usually 3–5 days) to give serious collectors time to decide. Please contact me directly to place a hold.

What materials do you use to create your original art?

My work is crafted with high-quality, archival materials—primarily charcoal, pastel, and mixed media—on fine art paper or canvas. Every piece is carefully sealed using a fixative for durability and offered unframed, unless mentioned otherwise.

Do your works come with a certificate of authenticity?

Yes. Every original artwork includes a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, verifying its originality and providing key provenance details for your records.

Are the artworks framed?

Unless specified, artworks are sold unframed to allow buyers to choose framing that suits their space and style. I’m happy to offer framing guidance or recommendations.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we offer worldwide shipping.

How is the artwork packaged & shipped? Will it arrive safely?

Absolutely. Every artwork is carefully packaged to ensure it reaches you in pristine condition.
Each artwork on paper is first protected with acid-free glassine to preserve the surface. It is then sandwiched between sturdy plywood boards and securely wrapped to withstand handling during transit. We use trusted, trackable shipping services to deliver your artwork safely to your door.

Can I see the artwork in person before purchasing?

If you're based in or visiting Bengaluru, you’re welcome to view select artworks by appointment. Please reach out to schedule a private viewing.

How do I care for a charcoal or mixed media artwork?

Keep originals away from direct sunlight and high humidity. For paper-based works, framing with good-quality glass is recommended to protect the surface and ensure longevity.
